Oh yeah, I got a passport and everything!

On July 10th at 1:00 in the morning, I'll be on a plane towards
the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere: Nicaragua.
Why, you ask? To do some missionary work and visit a former teacher
and her family while they set up a high school in a nearby village.

I'll be there for a whole week, until the 17th, and that means that
I won't have any sort of internet connection. A real bummer, I know!
But I'll be taking my digital camera and will definitely be posting
some pictures of the all the cool and bizarre things I see down there.

That is if I don't die of Malaria, Typhoid, Rabies, or Dengue Fever
first, lol. There's also a problem with tourists being abducted and
held at knife point. And then the whole not being able to trust the
police thing because they're impostors half of the time. Oh, and did
I mention that the mayor of the town I'm going to was assassinated
a few days ago due to some sort of political upset? Good times...

I'm sure everything will be fine. The US Embassy in Managua knows
that I'm coming and the family we're visiting lives in one of the safer
areas downtown. I'll be with someone 24/7, so no dying, promise.
Even if the country is bent on my premature demise, I'll live.

Wish me luck! I'm very excited and very nervous. Mostly stoked.
For those of you who haven't received faves/comments from me in
a long time: I have a fairly large backup of deviations and am still
trying to sort through it little by little. Know that I haven't forgotten
you! You'll get lots of love from me when I get back to the states.
